U12 Football
North Tippeary will be well represented in the U12 County Football Finals on Saturday, as 3 of our 4 semi finalists won their games. Unfortunately for Kilruane, they came up against a strong Durlas Óg side in the A competition, losing 4-12 to 3-4 but well done to Ballina in B Grade as they had a big win over Upperchurch. Congrats also to Lorrha who beat Thurles Gaels 3-3 to 1-8 in C Grade and to Ballinas second team in D grade who had a very big win over Holycross. Best of luck to all three teams and lets hope ye bring back some silverware to North Tipperary.

U16 Football
A Final
Unfortunately the U16A final did not happen last week with Eire Óg declining to play as scheduled. As a result Newport were crowned North Champions and now progress to the County Semis after the exams on June 21st.
B Final
Conditions were terrible on Sat evening last in Portroe, when a large crowd turned up to see Ballina and Toomevara play a very tough game of football. Ballina started the stronger and an early goal from full forward Eoghan Power, albeit with a little luck from a pool of water, rattled Toomevara. A point from a free a short time later from Gary O Brien was to be Ballina’s only other score in the first half as Toomevara found their composure. Soon after Toome’s wing forward Calvin O Rourke rattled the net whilst Kevin McCarthy, Alan Ryan and Aidan White added points to leave the score 1-3 to 1-1 in Toome’s favour at half time. After the break, with the wind swirling to no one’s real advantage, Toomevara became more dominant and only some fine saves from George Kealy in the Ballina goal and strong clearances from their fullback Thomas McGrath kept Ballina hopes alive. Toome went on to dominate, with a second goal from Alan Ryan and three points from man of the match Calvin O Rourke all but sealing Ballina’s fate. Centre back and Captain Josh McCarthy put the game beyond doubt with a fine free kick. Well done to both sides on a fine game in such trying conditions and special thanks to Portroe for hosting the final and to referee Michael Hallinan and his team for officiating. Final score Toomevara 2-8 Ballina 1-1. Toomevara now to on to represent North Tipperary in the Co Semis on June 21st. Toomevara team: Rory Brislane, Seamus O Farrell, Tadgh Fogarty, Damien Bergin, Jack Cullen, Josh McCarthy ( Capt), Eoin Grace, Sean Flaherty, Jake Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Alan Ryan, Calvin O Rourke, Robert Delaney, Jack Ryan and Aidan White. Subs : Kevin Cleary, Conor O Farrell, Anthony Maher and Thomas Farrell.
Peadar Cummins
The annual U14 Peadar Cummins U14 hurling tournament will take place as usual in Borrisoleigh on Saturday week. Best of luck to the panel in your preparation for what is usually a testing tournament.
