Centenary Agri Mid Senior Hurling Championship: The Mid Senior hurling championship got underway this weekend with wins for Upperchurch Drombane and Moycarkey Borris while Thurles Sarsfields and Drom-Inch ended all square in their clash. In the Ragg on Saturday, Upperchurch Drombane proved to have too much for Holycross Ballycahill, who lined out without Tipperary star Cathal Barrett, the men from the ‘Church won by three points 0-17 to 0-14. Paul Ryan and Pat Shortt proving constant threats accumulating 0-14 between them. Later that evening, Moycarkey Borris defied having to play with 14 players for the last 15 minutes to have a comprehensive victory over Boherlahan Dualla on a score of 2-21 to 0-10. Mossy Bracken, Kieran Morris and Rory Ryan were dangerous throughout scoring 0-16 between them. On Sunday in Holycross, despite both teams having qualified for the last 16 of the county championship, Drom-Inch and rivals Thurles Sarsfields played out an entertaining draw. In the next round Boherlahan Dualla face JK Brackens, Loughmore Castleiney meet Holycross Ballycahill while Moyne Templetuohy face either Thurles Sarsfields or Drom-Inch. There will be a toss of a coin to see which team are out next weekend.

Tipperary v Dublin Intercounty hurling Challenge: The official opening of the new clubhouse in Drombane took place on Sunday evening on front of a big crowd as Dublin defeated an experimental Tipperary side by a single point in what proved to be an entertaining game despite wintery conditions and heavy showers of rain. Colm Cronin led the Dubs scoring with 2-4 but he was outdone in the scoring stakes as Loughmore Castleiney’s John McGrath finished with 2-5 after 30 minutes. The home club were well represented on the night as James Barry, Padraig Stapleton, Colm Ryan and Paul Ryan all wore the Blue and Gold jersey. Well done to the organising committee and all their helpers who made the event a great success and looked after the patrons who attended on the night. The new clubhouse includes a gym room, Modern kitchen,spacious dressing rooms and an astro turf indoor pitch. We wish them well and every success with their new clubhouse.

Mid Intermediate Hurling Championship: The Roadstone Intermediate hurling championship kicked off over the weekend also and there were wins for Drom-Inch, Moycarkey Borris and Clonakenny over Thurles Sarsfields, Gortnahoe Glengoole and Holycross Ballycahill respectively. The three winners go forward to the semi finals while the 3 losers will play out to earn the final semi final spot.

Mid Minor A Football Semi final: The rearranged Mid Minor A football semi final between Drom-Inch and Moycarkey takes place in the Ragg this Wednesday at 7pm. The winners will face JK Brackens in the final after the State Exams.

Mid Junior Hurling Leagues: In the Division 1 league semi final there was a win for Thurles Sarsfields who defeated Drom –Inch by 6-17 to 0-14 while the other semi final was postponed due to a bereavement in the Loughmore Castleiney club. In the Division 2 league semi final JK Brackens defeated Thurles Gaels by 2 points.

2015 TIPPERARY GAA DRAW
The New Tipperary GAA draw will see its first draw take place on this Friday 22nd May.
The Draw Committee have introduced major increases in commission as follows, which should prove very attractive to clubs; 50% up to 200 members, 60% for members between 200 and 300, 70% for members after 300
All this and still retaining a €500,000 Prize Fund
This is a fantastic opportunity for clubs to bring in the much needed revenue to run the club throughout the year and with some fantastic prizes to be won each month. Contact your club co-ordinator or promoters to join in time for the first draw.
Remember this is “The Tipperary Clubs Draw” and it’s up to every club to contribute to its survival. Now is a great opportunity for all our clubs to grow its draw membership and bring in much needed revenue with no risk or no cost.
There is still time to get involved and remember if you are not in it you cannot win it!!
