Munster Club Senior Hurling Semi final:
Commiserations to Thurles Sarsfields who were defeated by Limerick Champions Na Piarsaigh on Sunday last in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick by a score of 2-15 to 0-17. Having led for the majority of the game, Thurles Sarsfields will look to the 2 goals conceded at the end of the game which swung it in favour of the Shannonsiders. However, great credit is due to all the Sars management and players for whom preparations for this game were difficult with the tragic passing of selector and coach Jackie Griffin. The board would like to extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the Griffin family.
James Woodlock Retires:
The Mid Tipperary Board extends its best wishes to Drom-Inch’s James Woodlock on the announcement of his retirement from the Tipperary senior hurling panel. James has been an integral part of the Tipperary Senior hurling side and his strength of character was shown in exemplary fashion when following an horrific injury in the 2009 county final against Thurles Sarsfields, James battled his way to the top of his game in 2011. During his inter county career James has won an Allianz Hurling League medal as well as 5 Munster Senior Hurling medals.
