Centenary Agri Mid Senior Hurling Championship: Loughmore Castleiney emerged victorious in their clash with Upperchurch Drombane by the narrowest of margins with just the single point separating them at the final whistle. The game was a fiercely contested campaign throughout the hour and Upperchurch will rue some erratic shooting which could have swung the contest in their favour. Loughmore Castleiney are now in the semi finals with Thurles Sarsfields and Drom Inch (who qualified following their victory over Moyne Templetuohy last week) while the other spot will be decided by the outcome of the JK Brackens and Moycarkey Borris game following JK Brackens victory over Boherlahan Dualla by 2-25 to 2-8.

Roadstone Intermediate Hurling Championship: Thurles Sarsfields defeated Gortnahoe Glengoole in the Loser’s Group semi final by a score of 1-14 to 1-7. This result puts Thurles Sarsfields into the final of the loser’s group against Holycross Ballycahill with a semi final spot at stake whilst Gortnahoe Glengoole must now focus on the county championship in order to progress to the knockout stages.

Junior Leagues: Well done to Boherlahan Dualla who were victorious in the Division 3 league final with victory over Clonakenny by a score 1-17 to 0-11. The division 1 league final between Thurles Sarsfields and Loughmore Castleiney took place on Tuesday evening, the result of which is unknown at the time of going to print.

Eirgrid Under 21 Football awards: Well done to JK Brackens’ county star Colin O Riordan who was voted EirGrid GAA Football U21 All-Ireland Championship Player of the Year as well as also been selected as a recipient of the inaugural ‘Eirgrid 21 U21 Awards’. Congratulations to Colin and the other Tipperary players who were recipients; Evan Comerford (Kilsheelan Kilcash), Ross Mulcahy (Moyle Rovers), Bill Maher (Kilsheelan Kilcash), Steven O’Brien (Ballina), and Kevin O’Halloran (Portroe).

Yours in sport,
