Tipperary Senior Footballers:
Congratulations and well done to Liam Kearns and his Tipperary Senior Football team who snatched a well deserved victory over Cork in the Munster Semi final to set up a Munster final tie against Kerry. This was a fantastic victory and a first Championship victory over the Rebels in Senior grade since 1944.
Cahill Cup:
Last weekend seen the commencement of the Cahill Cup and resulted in victories for Moycarkey Borris, Upperchurch Drombane and Holycross Ballycahill over Drom Inch, JK Brackens and Moyne Templetuohy. The Preliminary round tie between Thurles Sarsfields and Loughmore Castleiney takes place on Friday next with the winners meeting Clonakenny in the quarter final.
John West Feile na nGael 2016:
Best of luck to all clubs who are participating in this year’s competition and we would like to extend a warm welcome to all the visiting clubs from all over Ireland. We hope that all clubs extend a warm welcome to the clubs who shall play at their facilities throughout next weekend
Tipperary Senior Hurlers:
Best of luck to Michael Ryan and his Senior hurling team who face Limerick in the Munster Semi final on Sunday in Semple Stadium.
County Final Long Puck:
Following 3 very successful years on the Galtee Mountains the County final of the Long Puck revert to a North Tipperary venue
This year the finals will take place at Fairy Mount Farm, on the site of Bike Park Ireland in Ballingarry, Knockshegowna on Saturday June 25th 2016. Competitors are asked to assemble at the venue at 10.30 sharp for transportation to the start point. The U16 finalists are already decided at divisional level.
Senior participants are invited to register for participation by filling out a registration form which is available from club or divisional secretaries. Applications should be with us on or before Wednesday 22nd June.
Participation is open to any player registered with a club in Tipperary. A county Final Winners medal will be presented to winners of both the U16 and Senior competitions. The Senior winners will progress to represent Tipperary in the All Ireland Poc Fada on the Cooley Mountains. Intending participants are asked to bring one person with them to assist with marking and scoring.
A two and a half kilometer trail has been marked out and will be a good test for all.
Refreshments will be provided for participants and markers following the event on the site.
