Both the Under 21 A & B hurling finals are down for decision now with the recent inclement weather playing havoc with fixtures and games having to be called off on several occasions. Further details shall be known following Monday nights CCC meeting, see local press and social media for details
Clean Ireland Minor A County Football Semi finals:
The county minor A football semi finals take place with Drom-Inch representing the division when they face Newport Gaels in Newport on Saturday at 1.30pm. We wish them well in this fixture. Galtee / Golden face Clonmel Commercials in the other semi final in Bansha at 1.30 also
Clean Ireland Junior B County Football final:
Well done to Clonakenny who won their second county final of the year when defeating Galtee Rovers in the County Junior B football final which was played on Sunday last. Clonakenny won out by a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-9.
Tipperary v Offaly Fundraiser:
Tipperary will play Offaly in their first inter-county hurling challenge of the year on Sunday January 10th in Templemore at 2pm. It shall be Michael Ryan & Eamonn Kelly’s first game intercounty game in charge. All proceeds on the day will go to St. Colmcille’s Boys Primary School, Templemore. All support appreciated!
Thurles CBS Bicentenary celebration
Thurles CBS are holding a senior hurling challenge between the Tipperary Senior hurling team and a star studded selection of past CBS students which takes place on Sunday January 17th in Holycross with throw in at 2pm. One of the Joint managers for the Thurles CBS side shall be Kilkenny legend, Pat Henderson from the Fenians club who won Dean Ryan medal (Munster under 16.5) in 1960 and cycled to school. He won 5 All Irelands as player with Kilkenny and three as manager and also won 2 All Star awards and Hurler of the year 1974. He will be joined on the line by Fr Tom Fogarty from Moyne Templetuohy who has managed Tipperary at minor, under 21 and senior level as well as Offaly seniors.
County Convention:
Well done to Joe Bracken of Moycarkey Borris on been elected as Public Relations Officer of the county board at the County Convention which was held before Christmas and also well done to Liz Flanagan of Holycross Ballycahill who was elected as the new assistant treasurer. We wish them both well in their roles in 2016.
