Mid Tipperary GAA Scene – August 31st 2015

All Ireland Minor Hurling final:
We wish Liam Cahill, his management team and all the Tipperary minor hurling panel especially the Mid representatives the very best of luck on Sunday as they face Galway in the final with the Irish Press Cup the prize for the winners. Tipperary will be hoping to win the title which they last won in 2012 when Bill Maher of Kilsheelan Kilcash was captain of the side. The Tipperary Association Dublin are hosting the Post Match Reception and Welcome Dinner for the Tipperary Minor Hurling team and Management on the occasion of the 2015 All-Ireland Hurling Finals. The Association will host a Dinner in honour of the team and the management in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel, Naas Road, Dublin which continues a tradition lasting over 50 years, where Tipperary teams appearing in finals in Croke Park are hosted by the Tipperary Association Dublin. The dinner will begin at 8.00pm and will be followed by entertainment/disco.

Tickets for the dinner reception are priced at €35 each. Tables for 10 – 12 persons may be purchased, but individual tickets are also available. Tickets must be paid for in advance and the latest date for accepting bookings is Thursday 3rd September. All Ireland Minor Football Final:
Pride of place this week goes to our county minor footballers who showed fantastic work rate and team spirit in their victory over a muchly fancied Kildare side in the All Ireland Semi final on Sunday last. They now go forward to Munster Champions Kerry in a repeat of the Munster final. We wish them well in their preparations for the final.

CM Signs Cahill Cup:
The final of the CM Signs Cahill Cup was played on Friday evening last in Holycross with Drom-Inch defeating Holycross Ballycahill by a score of 0-25 to 0-14.

Roskeen Construction Junior A Championship:
Moyne Templetuohy edged out neighbours Loughmore Castleiney in a close encounter in the first semi final of the Mid Junior A hurling championship. They will face the winners of the all Thurles semi final between Thurles Sarsfields and Thurles Gaels which will take place on Saturday evening in Holycross.

Thurles Wholesale Cash and Carry Junior B hurling:
Following on from Knock’s victory over Clonakenny in the final group game, the semi-final pairings for the Junior B hurling championship have now been decided and are as follows: Upperchurch-Drombane v Moycarkey-Borris and Boherlahan-Dualla v Gortnahoe-Glengoole, These games are due to be played next weekend – Fri 4th/Sat 5th.
