Mid Tipperary GAA Scene – August 10th 2015

Mid Senior Hurling Final:
The launch of the Centenary Agri Mid Senior Hurling final shall take place in Younge’s The Ragg on Monday 17th August at 6pm. Officiers of both participating clubs as well as the captains of each team are asked to attend. The man in the middle for this year’s final shall be Moyne Templetuohy’s Sean Everard.

Mid Senior Football Championship:
The second semi final of the Gleeson’s Quarries Mid Senior football championship between JK Brackens and Drom-Inch will take place on Wednesday night 19th at 7pm in Templetuohy with the winners facing 2014 County Champions Loughmore Castleiney

Cahill Cup:
The Cahill Cup semi finals were played last week and both games proved to be thrilling encounters with both games needing extra time to be decided. In the Ragg Drom-Inch eventually saw off the spirited challenge of a game Moycarkey Borris side by a score of 1-34 to 3-23 while in Holycross Thurles Sarsfields were defeated by Holycross Ballycahill by 2 points on a score of 2-21 to 2-19.

Tipperary Minors:
Well done to Mid Representatives who were on the Tipperary minor football team that defeated Galway in the All Ireland quarter final on Monday week last. Best of luck to all our Mid Representatives who are on the Tipperary Minor hurling team on Sunday next in Croke Park against Dublin in the All Ireland minor hurling semi final.
Tipperary Seniors: Best wishes to all the Tipperary team and management as they take on Galway in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling semi-final next Sunday.

Mid Junior Hurling Championship:
Thurles Sarsfields had a comprehensive victory over JK Brackens in the one game which was played over the weekend while the Loughmore Castleiney v Thurles Gaels game was called off due to a bereavement in the Loughmore club. At the moment the current state of play sees Thurles Gaels topping the group with 6 points after 4 games while Thurles Sarsfields and Loughmore Castleiney both have 5 points while the latter have a game in hand. The fight for the final semi final spot will come down to Moyne Templetuohy and Drom-Inch. Moyne Templetuohy have 3 points from 3 games while Drom-Inch have just the single win with just one game remaining against Moyne Templetuohy. JK Brackens are bottom on 1 point. This week sees another round of group games take place when JK Brackens host Loughmore Castleiney while Moyne Templetuohy play Thurles Sarsfields.

Mid Junior B Hurling Championship:
Gortnahoe Glengoole had a victory over Knock in the only game played last weekend by a score of 4-12 to 2-8. On Friday night next Clonakenny host Moycarkey Borris in Clonakenny at 7pm while on Saturday in Killea, Killea face Boherlahan Dualla with throw in at 7pm.

Thurles Credit Union Mid Minor A Hurling Championship:
In round 3 of the championship there were wins for Drom-Inch, Holycross Ballycahill and JK Brackens while Holycross Ballycahill also defeated JK Brackens in the Round 1 tie which was rescheduled. At the moment, Drom-Inch have a 100% record with 3 wins from 3 while Holycross Ballycahill,Thurles Sarsfields and JK Brackens are all on 4pts with Boherlahan Dualla and Moycarkey Borris still to register a victory.

Thurles Credit Union Mid Minor B Hurling Championship:
Last week’s action saw victories for Gortnahoe Glengoole and Loughmore Castleiney over Upperchurch Drombane and Moyne Templetuohy respectively. The next fixture in this competition will not take place until Wednesday week after the Tipperary Minor Hurlers game with Dublin when Loughmore Castleiney will face Gortnahoe Glengoole. As there are only four teams in the group all the teams will qualify for the Mid semi final.
