Best wishes to Moycarkey-Borris, Holycross-Ballycahill and Thurles Gaels who all contest respective U14A, B and C football county finals this Saturday. It is not often we have representatives in all grades for the same age group so the great work been undertaken in our clubs is having the desired effect, hopefully it will be a memorable day all round.

Moycarkey-Borris come to the final on the back of a fine victory over Inane Rovers in the semi-final and an earlier impressive victory in the County Féile Peil na nÓg final. This particular panel are in fact having a great year in both codes so far and will look forward with confidence to the final.

Last Saturday, Holycross-Ballycahill recorded a great win in their county semi-final defeating Kilruane MacDonaghs to see them qualify for the final. This also follows up their credentials in securing the Mid ‘B’ Féile Peil title back in April. They were very impressive in their Mid final having overturned a very resolute Drom & Inch side to secure their crown and set them on their way to a tilt for county honours.

While the first team lining out on Saturday in Boherlahan for the U14 county finals are Thurles Gaels who will contest their first ever county final. This is a great occasion for the club who got straight to the final following their Mid victory as there was no equivalent championship in the North division this year. Exiting times in prospect for Thurles Gaels so with a chance to create their own bit of history on this unique occasion.

Elsewhere, the U12 hurling championships are running smoothly and more or less according to plan. While the U14 championships throw in on next Thursday night.
