Semple Stadium is the GAA’s second National Stadium, which hosts games and events for Tipperary County Board, Munster Council and the GAA Central Council.
The Stadium now has a vacancy for the position of:
Head Groundsperson
Reporting to the Stadium Director, the Head Groundsperson will be responsible for pitch and facilities maintenance at Semple Stadium and Dr. Morris Park and for supervising the work of staff and contract maintenance personnel.
Principal duties will include:
- Maintenance and presentation of pitches and surrounds to the highest standards
- Preparing the pitches for games and training sessions
- Devising and implementing fertilizer and soil management programmes
- Operating and maintaining machinery
- Developing and agreeing grounds maintenance budgets
- Coordinating the scheduling of pitches with games organisers and team managers
The successful candidate will have a proven record of major grounds management, in-depth knowledge of fertilizer use and soil maintenance, excellent communication and team leadership skills and ideally, a recognised qualification in grounds management or a related field.
