Mid Senior Hurling Final
Loughmore-Castleiney 1-20 Drom & Inch 2-16 (after extra time)
Loughmore-Castleiney are Mid Senior Hurling champions for the first time since 2011 following a hard earned one point victory over Drom & Inch after extra time in Templetuohy. Liam Treacy scored the Loughmore goal to put his side 5 points in front midway through the first half. However, by the interval Drom & Inch were in front courtesy of goals from David Butler and Paul Kennedy – HT Score Loughmore-Castleiney 1-8 Drom & Inch 2-6. While Drom & Inch had the aid of the wind in the second half, they were reduced to 14 men and this proved important as Loughmore scored 4 of the last 5 points in normal time, the final score from Brian McGrath to ensure the teams finished level – Loughmore-Castleiney 1-16 Drom & Inch 2-13. There was little between the sides in extra time but ultimately, minus the services of Seamus Callanan for this game proved crucial with Loughmore winning by a single point.
