West Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The Losers group semi-finals of the Tipperary Credit Union West Intermediate Hurling Championship took place last Wednesday evening June 3rd.
In Golden, Sean Treacys defeated Rockwell Rovers by four points. Link to Match Report goo.gl/Wr8gne
In the other semi-final Lattin/Cullen Gaels got the defence of their West Intermediate hurling championship back on track with a comfortable victory over Arravale Rovers. Link to Match Report
Lattin/Cullen Gaels will now meet Sean Treacys in the Losers group final with the winners joining Cashel, Galtee Rovers and Golden/K in the semi-finals.
West Junior B Hurling Championship:
In Group 2 of the Tipperary Co-Op Super Valu West Junior B Hurling Championship Sean Treacys got their first victory of this year’s competition when they defeated Cappawhite on Saturday night last in Annacarty. Link to match report
In the same group Arravale Rovers had a comfortable victory over Lattin/Cullen in Cappawhite also on Saturday night.
In Group 1 on Saturday night Rosegreen got their defence of their West title off to a winning start defeating Clonoulty/R in Cashel. Link to Match Report
While on Sunday morning in the same group Eire Og Annacarty Donohill maintained their 100% in this year’s competition defeating Galtee Rovers in Golden. Link to Match Report
There is another three games in the Tipperary Co-Op West Junior B Hurling Championship this Saturday night. In Group 1 Galtee/Rovers meet Cashel KC in New Inn.
While in Group 2 Arravale Rovers take on Cappawhite in Dundrum and Solohead go head to head with Lattin/Cullen in Bansha. All games have a 7.30pm throw in.
West Junior A Football Championship:
The AIB Tipperary West Junior A Football Championship resumes this weekend with three games down for decision.
In Group 2 on Friday night at 7.30pm Emly and Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams make their bow in this year’s competition when they meet in Solohead.
In the same group on Sunday Sean Treacys will look for their first victory of this year’s campaign at the second attempt when they play Golden/K who will be playing their first game of the competition.
There in one game in Group 1 on Sunday as reigning champions Rosegreen go up against Clonoulty/R in Cashel. Both teams were victorious in Round 1. Both Sunday games throw in at 12 noon.
West Junior A Hurling Championship:
The Gleeson Concrete West Junior A Hurling Championship continued on Sunday last when Clonoulty/R defeated Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams in Golden in a very exciting game. Link to Match Report
Clonoulty/R currently top the table with two points from one game, Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams are second with two points from two games while Emly are third yet to register a point having lost their first game.
West Junior B Football Championship.
There was one game in the Rea Clarke Hennessy West Junior B Football Championship last Sunday when Rockwell Rovers defeated Emly. Link to Match Report
County U21 Football Championship:
The semi-finals of the County U21A Football Championship have now been fixed for Wednesday June 17th. In the A semi-final Galtee/Emly will take on Clonmel Commercials in Cashel while in the B semi-final Rockwell/Rosegreen will take on Ardfinnan in Cahir. Both games have a 7.30pm throw in and extra time will be played in the event of a draw.
Munster Senior Football Championship:
Best of luck to our West representatives and to the Tipperary Senior and Junior Football teams who play Kerry in the Munster semi-final in Semple Stadium on Sunday next June 14th.
Referee’s:
Congratulations to West Referee John O’Brien and his team of officials who took charge of the Nicky Rackard Cup Final in Croke Park on Saturday last. John also recently took charge of the Munster Intermediate Hurling ¼ final between Clare and Limerick in Thurles.
Belated congratulations to David Grogan who recently took charge of the Munster Junior ¼ final between Limerick and Clare.
