Munster U21 Football Champions: Well done to captain Colin O Riordan of JK Brackens who led the Tipperary Under 21’s to the Munster Under 21 title on Wednesday last. Colin was joined on the panel by club mate Dean McEnroe and Upperchurch Drombane’s Paul Shanahan. This was a fantastic achievement as it was just the second time the Premier County have lifted the cup. They face Dublin in the Eirgrid All-Ireland Under 21 Football Championship Semi-Final on Saturday April 18th at 4pm in O’Connor Park Tullamore.
Munster Minor Football Championship Quarter Final: Best of luck to Tipperary who face Waterford in the Munster quarter final on Wednesday in Semple Stadium. Best of luck to all the representatives from the Mid Division.
Munster Minor Hurling Championship Quarter Final: Well done to Tipperary on their 1 point victory over Waterford in the Munster quarter final on Wednesday last. They now face Clare on 1st July in Semple Stadium. Well done to all the representatives from the Mid Division.
County Senior Hurling Championship: There was a completion of round 2 of the Clean Ireland Recycling hurling championship last weekend and there were several clubs from the division in action. In Roinn 1 Group 2, Upperchurch Drombane were held to a draw by Kildangan while in Roinn 2 Group 1, JK Brackens had a 2 point victory over Knockavilla Donaskeagh Kickhams. In Roinn 2 Group 3, Boherlahan Dualla were beaten by Ballingarry by 6 points. Round 2 of the championship takes place on the weekend of 25th & 26th April.
County Intermediate Hurling Championship: The county intermediate hurling championship began last weekend with wins for Drom-Inch (over Rockwell Rovers), Gortnahoe Glengoole (over Holycross Ballycahill) and Thurles Sarsfields (over Clonakenny). Round 2 of the championship is down for the weekend of 25th & 26th April.
Mid Minor A Football Championship: The minor A football competition is well under way as there have been two rounds played and a further round down to be played this week. So far there are 4 teams all on 2 points while Holycross Ballycahill remain without a win. This week sees JK Brackens take on Thurles Sarsfields while Drom Inch travel to Littleton to take on Moycarkey Borris on Friday while Holycross Ballycahill have a bye in this round.
Mid Minor B Football Championship: In the Minor B grade Loughmore Castleiney lead the group with a 100% record after 2 games. This week sees Moyne Templetuohy Og take on Upperchurch Drombane while Loughmore Castleiney host Boherlahan Dualla.
Mid Junior Hurling leagues: In the O’Mahoney Print Division 1 league, following the weekend’s action there are 4 teams on 2 points with Drom Inch yet to register a win. Loughmore Castleiney emerged victorious over Drom Inch while Thurles Sarsfields were victorious with a 4 point win over Moyne Templetuohy. Upperchurch Drombane had a bye in this round. Next round sees Drom-Inch host Thurles Sarsfields while Moyne Templetuohy face Upperchurch Drombane. In the Division 2 League, JK Brackens are top of the group followed by Thurles Sarsfields and Thurles Gaels while Moycarkey Borris and Gortnahoe Glengoole are still without a win. In the Templetuohy Cab and Bus Hire Division 3 league Boherlahan Dualla lead the way with maximum points from 2 games while Knock Gortnahoe Glengoole and Thurles Gaels are on 2 points. Killea and Clonakenny are still without a win after 2 rounds.
