ALL IRELAND POST PRIMARY SCHOOLS SENIOR A FINAL
Colaiste dun Iascaigh, Cahir contested the Tesco All Ireland Post Primary Schools Senior A Final on Saturday last in Kinnitty, County Offaly with Glenamaddy Community School the opponents. Colaiste dun Iascaigh, in the final for the second consecutive year, trailed by 3-2 to 1-3 at half-time. However, a gallant second half comeback which yielded 3 goals for the Tipperary school didn’t prove to be enough on the day as Glenamaddy ran out one point winners on a scoreline of 4-5 to 3-7. While failing to capture silverware on this occasion, CDI have played some fantastic football over the past couple of seasons, capturing two Munster Senior A titles and playing in two All-Ireland finals, an unprecedented run of success for a Tipperary Ladies Football side at this level. Congratulations to everyone involved and we look forward to seeing these talented players continue to impress at club and county level in the months ahead.

TIPPERARY U14 TEAM
Coorclare, Co. Clare was the venue for Tipperary’s Under 14 third round game where they played the host county in the Munster Championship on Sunday last.

The majority of the first quarter of the game was a level affair with the ball flowing from end to end with no score for either County until the thirteenth minute when Tipperary’s Emma Ryan was finally rewarded with the first goal despite score attempts from other Tipperary players. Eva Fennessy and Emma Morrissey added two further points to Tipperary’s score line in the seventeenth and twentieth minute, respectively. Host County Clare registered their first point in the twenty fourth minute when Meg Brennan scored a point followed by another white flag being raised by Aislin Reidy, Clare moments later. The goal was the margin between the teams until in the thirtieth minute Eva Fennessy stretched the lead with a second goal for Tipperary. The final score of the first half was Tipperary’ Ciara Dwan’s point. Tipperary 2-3 Clare 0-2

The second half opened with a trio of goals for Tipperary by Emma Morrissey (32nd), Eva Fennessy (37th) and Emma Ryan (38th). Meg Brennan pointed a free for Clare in the eleventh minute and Tipperary’s Ciara Dwan annulled that point in the twelfth minute. In the thirteenth minute Emma Ryan, Tipperary completed her hat trick of goals and opened a margin of nineteen points. Tipperary made a number of substitutions in the following minutes with the most notable being the goalie just as Clare were granted a penalty. Rachel Sweeney was given ample opportunity to display skills when she saved that penalty. However, Amy Sexton, Clare netted the ball in the eighteenth minute. Clare received another penalty in the twentieth minute and Rachel Sweeney, Tipperary hit the ball away over the bar for a point. Clare drew momentum from these scores and hit a purple patch scoring an unanswered goal and two points before Tipperary would register another score. Two points from Emma Ryan and Emma Morrissey were added to Tipperary’s score line before Meg Brennan, Clare added a goal to completed a high scoring second half with Tipperary running out nine point winners – Tipperary 6-6 Clare 3-6
