FBD Insurance County Hurling Championships

The opening round of the 2026 FBD Insurance County Hurling Championships gets underway this weekend with an exciting programme of games across Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We look forward to welcoming supporters to grounds throughout the county for what promises to be another thrilling championship campaign.

A full list of fixtures, throw in times and venues is available on the Tipperary GAA website, app and social media channels.

The signs are there for another highly competitive championship across all grades.

In the Senior Hurling Championship, Group 1 includes the clash of recently crowned All Ireland Intermediate Club champions Upperchurch Drombane take on the kingspins of Tipperary hurling Thurles Sarsfields while two youthful sides, Kilruane MacDonaghs and Holycross Ballycahill meet in the group’s other fixture. Group 2 sees North champions Borris Ileigh take on West champions Clonoulty Rossmore while reigning county champions Loughmore Castleiney begin their bid for a three in a row when they face fellow Mid side Moycarkey Borris. Group 3 opens with an all North clash between Roscrea and Kiladangan while Cashel King Cormacs face Drom & Inch. In Group 4, Toomevara take on CJ Kickhams Mullinahone while last year’s county finalists Nenagh Éire Óg meet JK Brackens.

The Premier Intermediate Championship also promises plenty of excitement. In Group 1, North champions Silvermines take on Sean Treacys while neighbours Gortnahoe Glengoole and Moyne Templetuohy renew acquaintances. Group 2 features an all South encounter between St Mary’s and Killenaule while Carrick Swan face Thurles Sarsfields. Group 3 has an all North derby as Burgess meet Lorrha Dorrha with Templederry Kenyons taking on Moneygall. In Group 4, newly promoted Golden Kilfeacle begin life in the grade against Ballina while newly crowned West champions Éire Óg Annacarty Donohill face Boherlahan Dualla.

The Intermediate Hurling Championship gets underway with North champions Portroe facing Knockavilla Kickhams while Kilsheelan Kilcash meet Clonoulty Rossmore in Group 1. Group 2 sees clubs from opposite ends of the county meet as Carrick Davins take on Shannon Rovers while newly promoted Clonakenny, fresh from capturing the Mid title, return to the Intermediate ranks against West champions Arravale Rovers. In Group 3, Cappawhite face Holycross Ballycahill while South champions Skeheenarinky renew rivalries with Ballingarry in a repeat of this year’s South Final. Group 4 pairs Borrisokane with Moyle Rovers while Ballybacon Grange take on Newport.

Supporters are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance through the Tipperary GAA website. Entry to all venues is by Tap & Go but purchasing tickets beforehand will help avoid delays at the gate. Please allow extra time for parking and arrive early to ensure you’re in place before throwin.

Jubilee All Ireland winning team

The Tipperary panel that captured the 2001 All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, completing a magnificent treble by also winning the League and Munster Championship that same year, was honoured last Sunday at Croke Park.

The Tipperary 2001 Jubilee team would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported and acknowledged them over the course of the All Ireland Final weekend and in the weeks leading up to the celebrations.

The team expressed their appreciation for the tremendous support received for their recent Golf Classic, the generosity of everyone who contributed financially and the warm welcome they received throughout the weekend.

Sincere thanks are extended to Croke Park for their hospitality on All Ireland Final day, to Louis Fitzgerald and all the staff at the Arlington Hotel for making their stay so memorable, to Mr Mister Menswear for ensuring the team looked so well on the day and to Tipperary GAA for their support and assistance in the lead-up to the event.

Camogie 

The very best of luck to the Tipperary Senior Camogie team as they take on Cork this Saturday 25th July at 6.00 pm in FBD Semple Stadium in the All Ireland Semi Final.

Divisional Championships

Éire Óg Annacarty Donohill successfully defended their ArraTipp West Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship title with a dramatic 4-28 to 1-29 extra time victory over Golden Kilfeacle in Dillon Quirke Park, Clonoulty last Saturday evening.

Éire Óg held a narrow 1-11 to 1-10 lead at half time after goals from Dinny Crosse and Golden-Kilfeacle’s Sam Hall. Golden-Kilfeacle looked set for victory after opening up a six point lead in the second half, but goals from Paudie Bradshaw and Dinny Crosse brought Éire Óg back into contention. An injury-time pointed free from Aidan Griffin forced the game to extra time with the sides level at 3-14 to 1-20.

Éire Óg made the perfect start to extra time when Liam Óg O’Dwyer found the net and they never relinquished the lead eventually securing a 4-28 to 1-29 victory and retaining the Leahy Cup.

Minor ‘C’ County Championship

The Minor ‘C’ County Football Championship resumed last Wednesday July 15th. St Patrick’s recorded a 4-8 to 2-8 victory over Carrick Davinswhile Newcastle enjoyed a comprehensive win over Thurles Gaels.

The Minor ‘C’ County Hurling Championship continues this Wednesday July 22nd with both games throwing in at 7.30pm. St Patrick’s host St Mary’s, while Newcastle welcome Lorrha Dorrha.

Refereeing

Best wishes to Sean Lonergan from Moyle Rovers on his appointment as the sideline official in the All Ireland Senior Football Championship Final this coming Sunday between Kerry and Mayo.

Tipperary Masters

Best of luck to the Tipperary Masters this Saturday as they travel to Kenny Park, Athenry,  to face Galway in the Masters All Ireland Hurling Final. Throw in is at 3.00 pm, and everyone in Tipperary GAA wishes the players and management every success on the day.

Win All Ireland Football Final Tickets

Tipperary GAA is offering supporters the chance to win six stand tickets to the 2026 All-Ireland Senior Football Final between Mayo and Kerry.

Entries cost €10 for one, €20 for three or €40 for seven. One lucky winner will receive all six stand tickets for the biggest day in the Gaelic football calendar.

2026 Tipperary Club Season Pass

The 2026 Tipperary GAA club season pass is now on sale and can be purchased via the events section of the Tipperary GAA App. The pass which will entitle the holder entry into all adult divisional and county games at adult level will cost €170.

GAA Regional Youth Forums

The Gaelic Games Associations are inviting young members aged 12 to 21 to attend the GAA Regional Youth Forums taking place in September. The forums will give young people the opportunity to have their say on the future of Gaelic games through discussion, debate and interactive workshops.

This year, the Youth Forum is coming to regional venues, with The Dome, FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles, hosting a forum on Sunday September 6th from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm.

The forums have been developed by the National GAA Youth Committee and will help shape the future direction of the Association.

Young people are encouraged to attend and have their voices heard. Further information, including registration details, is available on the GAA Youth Forum page on the GAA website.
