SENIOR A FINAL
Coláiste Dún Iascaigh 4-8 Scoil Mhuire, Carrick on Suir 2-9
Coláiste Dún Iascaigh, Cahir retained their title as Munster Post Primary Senior A Champions after they defeated Scoil Mhuire, Carrick on Suir. Clonmel Sportsfield was the venue for the first ever all Tipperary Senior A Post Primary Schools Final on an icy cold Saturday last.
Coláiste Dún Iascaigh started the scoring straight away when Roisin Howard scored a point in the first minute. For the next eight minutes the schools traded two further points each but Coláiste Dún Iascaigh held the upper hand and in the eleventh minute managed to stretch their lead to four points after Aishling Moloney netted the ball following a pass from Caoimhe Condon. Caoimhe Condon, Coláiste Dún Iascaigh was next to raise the green flag in the twelfth minute. Points were traded in the fifteenth and seventeenth minute before Rachel Moloney, Coláiste Dún Iascaigh punched the ball to the back of the net. Aoife Murray, Scoil Mhuire Carrick on Suir added two more points to their score line reducing the deficit at half time to eight points. Coláiste Dún Iascaigh 3-4 Scoil Mhuire, Carrick on Suir 0-5
Within a minute of the second half commencing Aishling Moloney, Coláiste Dún Iascaigh passed the ball to Roisin Howard who scored a goal. Caoimhe Condon quickly added another point thus increasing Coláiste Dún Iascaigh’s lead to twelve points. Kellyann Doyle, Scoil Mhuire, Carrick on Suir started their scoring with a point in the third minute and this was quickly followed by a goal by Aoife Murray. Carrick on Suir had returned the deficit to eight points. Points were once again traded before Scoil Mhuire earned themselves a penalty which Áine Power placed in the back of the net. With only ten minutes or so left on the clock both schools added two points each to their score lines however this was not enough for Scoil Mhuire, Carrick on Suir. Congratulations to Lauren Fitzpatrick on receiving Player of the Match for her outstanding goal keeping skills. Lauren also accepted the cup on behalf of Coláiste Dún Iascaigh from Munster Ladies Football President, Ian O’Brien.

SENIOR B FINAL
St. Augustine’s, Dungarvan 3-13 Loreto Clonmel 4-9
On Saturday last the Munster Ladies Gaelic Football Post Primary Senior B Final was a very tough tense game. St. Augustine’s Molly Curran was first to score a goal early in the game while Loreto Clonmel let the points look after themselves until at the end of the first quarter Lauren Guiry netted the ball to put them four points in the lead. St. Augustine’s increased their point scoring to outscore Loreto Clonmel 6 points to 2 to go in at half time level, St. Augustine’s, Dungarvan 1-6 Loreto Clonmel 1-6
After trading points Loreto Clonmel’s Sarah Ryan scored a goal within four minutes of the opening of the second half. Loreto Clonmel added a further two points to St. Augustine’s one. As the final quarter commenced, Loreto Clonmel’s Lauren Guiry netted the ball minutes before another Sarah Ryan goal increased Loreto’s lead to nine points. However, St. Augustine’s kept the pressure on and in the dramatic closing stages, the Dungarvan school added 2-4 without reply including a goal deep in to injury time to secure a comeback victory by a point. SENIOR D PLATE FINAL
Our Lady’s, Templemore 5-7 Glanmire CC 1-3
Congratulations to Our Lady’s, Templemore who defeated Glanmire CC in the Munster Ladies Gaelic Football Post Primary Schools Senior D Plate Final in Bansha on Friday last. This was game where Our Lady’s started as they meant to go on by scoring one goal and a point in the first five minutes. With the aid of the wind blowing in to Bansha village goal Our Lady’s, Templemore managed to add a further two goals and six points to their score line to go in at half time, Our Lady’s 3-7 Glanmire CC 0-1.
In the second half Glanmire CC had a lot of scoring to do but thanks to Our Lady’s well marshalled defence they were not allowed to do so despite getting a penalty goal in the third quarter. Our Lady’s forwards skilfully raised the green flag for their school twice in the second half to take the title. Our Lady’s, Templemore 5-7 Glanmire CC 1-3. Afterwards, Niamh Treacy received the player of the match award while Our Lady’s captain Mairead Eviston accepted the Munster cup on behalf of her team-mates.
