Biography

John was born on September 17th 1991 and is a member of the Killenaule club. John played Minor Hurling with Tipperary in 2008 and 2009 and Under 21 Hurling in 2010, 2011 and 2012 (as captain) – winning Munster and All-Ireland Under 21 Hurling medals in 2010 lining out at corner-forward. John won a Munster Senior Hurling medal in 2015, lining out at corner-forward and scoring 5 points in the final v Waterford. John won an All-Ireland Senior Hurling medal in 2016, scoring 1-5 in the final versus Kilkenny, a performance for which he received a nomination for man of the match. John won his second All Ireland medal in 2019 scoring 1-02 from play in his sides victory. John made his Senior inter-county debut with Tipperary in the 2013 Waterford Crystal Cup Quarter-Final, lining out at right half-forward v Limerick scoring a point from play. John made his Championship debut as a second half substitute v Limerick in the 2013 Munster Senior Hurling Championship, scoring 1-3 from play. John was nominated for an All-Star award in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019, winning an All-Star at wing-forward in 2014. John won an InterProvincial Hurling medal with Munster in 2016.
